Shelby is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a background in working with families and children/adolescents. Shelby’s professional experience has focused on trauma work in children/adolescents, specializing in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She also has experience working in community based settings where she gained confidence in treating children/adolescents who struggle with depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and self harming behaviors. Through her work with children/adolescents, Shelby has gained knowledge and expertise in working with families; including couples work, addressing generational trauma, and parenting skills. She has a background in Psychology, receiving her BA from Sonoma State, and Masters of Social Work from University of North Carolina, Wilmington.
Shelby is a San Diego native, and since moving back from North Carolina she enjoys spending quality time with her family, particularly her young niece and nephew. She enjoys spending time with her dog at the beach on the weekends and playing tourist in her hometown.
